I have worked in the field of sexual and reproductive health for 18 years, having been an emergency nurse for eight years prior to that. I was the regional nurse adviser for Auckland and Northland for eight years before leaving to gain more experience in gynaecology services and abortion provision to pursue the Nurse Practitioner pathway. Having become a Nurse Practitioner, I returned to Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa – working in a clinic before taking up my current position as Director of Nursing / Nurse Practitioner in January 2023.

With my focus on sexual and reproductive health, menopause care has long been part of my practice. But as I’m currently experiencing perimenopause myself, I’ve developed a deeper appreciation of the need for tailored care to support people across this period of their lives. The best part of my day is when I get to see how we make a positive difference in our clients’ lives – and I just know that we can do that through in-depth appointments and individualised menopause treatment plans.
